The 25th Northwestern Polytechnical University Model United Nations Conference (NPUMUN), hosted by the NPUMUN Base, was recently held successfully. Numerous international student delegates participated actively and performed exceptionally well, demonstrating excellent global perspectives and comprehensive qualities.

During the several days of conference, the international students were assigned to various committees, representing different countries to engage in in-depth discussions and consultations on global issues. In the UN General Assembly Third Committee (UNGA3), delegates exchanged opinions on issues such as protecting the safety of journalists in armed conflicts. In the UN Security Council (UNSC), delegates held multiple rounds of debates surrounding the complex international security challenge of the North Korean nuclear issue. In the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the fairness of the energy transition and sustainable pathways became the focus of discussion.

Thanks to their solid pre-conference research, clear parliamentary procedure skills, and active diplomatic consultations, several international student delegates received awards for their outstanding performance. The specific award winning-list is as follows:

Together with our Chinese friends, sharing the aspiration for a better world, we built friendships while reaching resolutions."

At the Model UN conference, the international students not only delved into international events but also practiced and honed various skills including organization, writing, management, background research, public speaking, debate, conflict resolution, finding common ground while reserving differences, and communication. This has laid a solid foundation for their leadership development.
