Notice for Prohibiting International Students from Illegal Part-time Employment
Dear international students,
According to Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People’s Republic of China, Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Administration of the Entry and Exit of Foreigners, Measures of Recruiting and Cultivating of international students and regulations of Northwestern Polytechnical University, international students who are studying in China are not allowed to be engaged in any employment, business or other operational activities.
Where a foreigner holding a residence permit for study intends to engage in off-campus work-study or internship, he or she shall, upon the approval of the school, apply to the exit and entry administration authority of the public security organ to have such information as the location and duration of the work-study program or internship placement specified in his or her residence permit. A foreigner holding a residence permit for study shall not engage in any off-campus work-study or internship unless the information prescribed in the preceding paragraph is specified in his or her residence permit.
Related matters are reaffirmed as follows:
I. International students shall abide by the law of China and shall not be engaged in any illegal employment and part-time jobs.
II. Students who are reported or investigated about their part-time jobs, once verified, shall be investigated for legal responsibility.
III. NPU will punish the students who are investigated for legal responsibility including expulsion according to regulations.
