一、项目简介Introduction of the program

本项目为国际预科英文授课（本科）项目，该项目旨在帮助国际学生掌握中国大学本科相关方向的基础专业知识、培养足够的语言能力、掌握一定的跨文化交际能力，以适应在中国的学习和生活。

This program is taught in English for International Foundation Program courses (Undergraduate). The purpose of the program is to help international students master the basic professional knowledge of Chinese universities, cultivate enough language ability, master certain intercultural communication ability, and better adapt to their study and life in China.

二、培养对象Training Objects

西北工业大学国际预科英文授课（本科）的培养对象为有意向来西北工业大学接受本科（英文授课）教育的外国高中毕业生，在本科阶段攻读工科或商科方向英文授课专业。

The training objects of International Foundation Program are foreign high school graduates who are willing to come to Northwestern Polytechnical University for undergraduate education, and majored in engineering or business (taught in English) at undergraduate stage.

三、课程设置 Curriculum Design

1.学科方向 Subject Direction

本项目开设工科和商科两个方向。学生在顺利完成特定方向的课程并通过考核后，可以进入西北工业大学攻读工科类或商科类本科专业。

This program has two directions of engineering and business. After successfully completing the specific courses and passing the examinations, students can enter the Northwestern Polytechnical University of technology to study engineering or business majors.

2.培养目标 Training Objectives

本项目全面培养学生的专业基础知识、语言能力、跨文化能力和学业规划能力。

This program aims to comprehensively cultivate the basic professional knowledge, language ability, cross-cultural communication ability and academic planning ability of students.

专业基础知识：通过对相关方向的高一至大一年级专业基础知识的集中讲授，填补国际学生所在国与中国基础教育的差异，建立相对完整的高中知识结构，提前熟悉大学专业课的内容及难度。

Basic Professional knowledge

Through the intensive teaching of professional basic knowledge from senior high school to university, we can fill in the differences of basic education between the countries where international students live and China, establish a relatively complete knowledge structure of high school, and get familiar with the content and difficulty of university professional courses in advance.

语言能力：包含实用英语和基础汉语两个板块。其中实用英语包含英语听说读写技能的综合训练、科技英语及商务英语的扩展阅读等，旨在帮助母语为非英语国家的国际学生提前适应英文授课专业的语言环境，初步具备学习、研究和交流相关学科的英文能力。基础汉语将讲授留学生的必备汉语语音、词汇、句子和日常会话等知识，旨在帮助留学生尽快适应在中国的生活。

Language Ability

It includes practical English and basic Chinese. Among them, practical English includes comprehensive training of English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, expanded reading of scientific English and business English, etc. It aims to help international students from non English-speaking countries adapt to the language environment of English teaching major in advance, and initially have the English ability to learn, research and communicate. Basic Chinese will teach international students the necessary knowledge of Chinese pronunciations, vocabularies, sentences and daily conversations. The purpose is to help international students adapt to life in China.

跨文化能力：通过中国文化类课程，向留学生介绍中国历史文化、科技经济、风俗习惯、社会生活等。帮助留学生在校园生活、人际交往、社会实践等环节中储备一定的理解力、交际力及解决问题的能力。

Intercultural Communication Ability

Through Chinese culture courses, we will introduce Chinese history and culture, science and technology, economy, customs, social life, etc. It can help international students to reserve certain understanding, communication and problem-solving ability in campus life, interpersonal communication and social practice.

学业规划能力：来自留学生招生部门的相关工作人员将提供学业规划指导讲座，为留学生介绍专业概况、学业规划、申请流程等，帮助留学生在预科期间合理规划个人学业发展。

Academic Planning Ability

Relevant staffs from Admission Office will provide academic planning guidance lectures. They will introduce the major profile, academic planning, application process, etc. to international students, and help them plan their own academic development reasonably.

五、项目安排 Program Arrangement

1.课程安排

每周一至周五上午8:00-12:00 ，每周一、三、五下午14:00-16:00，共计26课时/周

Course Arrangement

8:00 - 12:00, Monday to Friday,

14:00 - 16:00 , Monday, Wednesday and Friday,

A total of 26 class hours / week

2.学期安排

3月中旬至7月中旬，共计17周（含1周期末考试）

Term Arrangement.

From the end of March to the end of July 2021, a total of 17 weeks (including one week final exam).

八、入学要求 Admission Requirements

1.完成本国基础教育，通过毕业考核且成绩合格，持有高中毕业证书或预毕业证明；

2.英语水平达到入学要求。

1.Complete the national basic education, pass the graduation examination and qualified the examination, hold the high school diploma or pre-graduation certificate.

2.English level meets the entrance requirements.

九、申请材料 Required documents

1.清晰地护照扫描件

Clear copy of Passport.

2.经公证的最高学位证书或预毕业证明。

A notarized academic certificate:(English/Chinese or notarized English/Chinese attached with original)

3.高中成绩单

High school transcripts.

4.无犯罪记录证明（需为近5个月开具）。

Non-criminal record certificate (produced within last 5 months).

5.体检报告扫描件。

Copy of physical examination certificate.

6.18岁以下的未成年申请人需提供以下材料：

Applicants under the age of 18 are required to provide:

监护人委托书（需为原件并在当地公证）

Guardian's authorization letter(original and notarized).

监护人公民证明或身份证件

Guardian's Citizenship certificate or Identification

十、申请流程 Application procedures

1. 登陆西北工业大学国际学生网络申请系统，完成网申。

Complete the online application at NPU Admission Portal:http://admission.nwpu.edu.cn/

2. 招生委员会审核学生材料。

Review of application documents by Admission Committee.

3.  国际教育学院对评审通过的学生发放预录取通知书和相关材料。

The international College will send the Admission Notice and other relevant documents to students who are accepted.
