Northwestern Polytechnical University Branch Campus in Kazakhstan ("NPU Branch campus" for short) was officially opened on October 12, 2023. The Branch campus was jointly established with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU). Located in Xi'an, Shaanxi, Northwestern Polytechnical University is a top Chinese engineering university that cultivates talents in aeronautics, astronautics and marine technology engineering. As a national "First-Class" university (A class), NPU ranked 133 according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities. KazNU is the largest and best comprehensive university in Kazakhstan, according to 2026 QS World University Rankings it ranked 166.

I. Introduction to Program

Program Level: Bachelor.

Majors: Artificial Intelligence

Registration time: September of each year.

Duration: 4 years (2+2). Students could get 2 diplomas from each university upon fulfillment of the graduation requirements of both universities.

II. Application

With National Grant (Nationality: Kazakhstan)

Participation in Kazakhstan State Grant Examination （UNT）and interview of English proficiency (organized by NPU) are required. Students with national grant and good English skills will be admitted automatically.
