Public Welfare Track

Projects in the public welfare track are plans and practices aimed at establishing non-profit social organizations, highlighting the social contribution and public welfare value of the projects. Specific requirements are as follows.

I. Project requirements

(i) Projects in the public welfare category should be innovative, effective and sustainable in promoting the economic and social development of old revolutionary areas, poor areas and urban and rural communities.

(ii) The projects must be real, healthy and legal, without any bad information, and the project intention should promote positive energy and practice socialist core values. The project must not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others; the inventions, patented technologies and resources involved must have clear and legal intellectual or material rights; plagiarism, misappropriation, provision of false materials or violation of relevant laws and regulations will result in immediate loss of the right to participate and all legal responsibilities.

(iii) If the project involves the intellectual property rights of others, a complete and legally valid written authorisation letter from the owner, patent certificate, etc. must be submitted upon application; for business projects that have completed business registration, copies of the business licence and unified social credit code, an overview of the unit, the legal representative and the shareholding structure must be submitted upon application. Participating projects can provide current financial data, investment received, employment driven and other relevant supporting materials. For projects that have received more than 10 million RMB in investment (or revenue), please provide the corresponding supporting materials at the final round.

(iv) Apply for the competition as a team. Each team must have no less than three and no more than ten members, all of whom must be actual members of the project. The project submitted by the team must be planned or operated by the team, and no borrowing of another team's project is allowed.

(v) The applicant must be the team leader and must be a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate student enrolled in NWIT, or a graduate within 5 years of graduation (undergraduate or postgraduate students graduating after 2017). Any change in the legal representative of the enterprise after the date of the competition notice will not be recognised.

(vi)Projects that have already won the Gold and Silver Awards in the National Finals of the China Internet Plus Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, or projects that have already won the Gold and Silver Awards in the Challenge Cup China Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition, are not eligible to apply for this competition.

II. Entry categories and requirements

Public welfare projects are divided into public welfare group and business group according to the nature and characteristics of the projects.

(i) Public Welfare Group

Projects are social value-oriented, with good ideas, products or service models in the field of public welfare services.

1. The main body of the entry is an independent public welfare project or social organisation, and projects of registered or unregistered public welfare organisations (or social organisations) are eligible for entry.

2. Public welfare projects co-created by teachers and students can participate in this group if they meet the track requirements.

(ii) Business Category

Projects in this category are designed to solve the painful problems of agricultural, rural and urban-rural community development, consolidate the achievements of poverty eradication, help revitalise the countryside and achieve the integration of economic and social values by commercial means.

Both registered and unincorporated projects are eligible to enter. If the project has been registered, the student must be the legal representative.

III. Prize Setting

There will be First Prize, Second Prize and Third Prize for each of the Public Interest Group and the Business Group.
